David City Public School

David City Public School in Butler County is accredited by Nebraska Department of Education and the North Central Association. Elementary school buildings are located in David City and Bellwood.

The maximum capacity of the public elementary school in David City is 450 and the Bellwood school has a capacity of 260. The public junior-senior high school was built in 1916 with additions in 1985 and 1993 and has a maximum capacity of 500.

Vocational courses offered in the high school include agriculture, business education, family and
consumer science, industrial technology, and industrial education. Adult education programs are available in the high school in cooperation with Central Community College. Distance learning programs are available via satellite.

 

Aquinas & St. Mary's Catholic Schools

Aquinas & St. Mary's Catholic Schools provide a Christ-centered learning environment where they develop individuals to be disciples of Christ in all areas of their lives.  The school system features three campuses including the Holy Family Early Learning Center, St. Mary's Elementary and Aquinas Catholic Middle and High School.  St. Mary's Elementary and Aquinas Catholic Middle & High School educates students grades PK-12 and the schools are accredited through the Nebraska Department of Education and Cognia.

Aquinas Catholic Schools have high academic expectations. Aquinas offers different academic avenue that prepare students for the future. Students have the opportunity to earn dual credits (college credits) during high school.

St. Mary's School educates students preschool through 5th grade. With the addition of Holy Family Early Learning Center in 2019, St. Mary's can offer full day preschool and pre-kindergarten classes. St. Mary's students participate in daily Mass and basic core educational classes.

Holy Family Early Learning Center is a Nebraska State-licensed childcare center that is based on integrity, compassion, and Christian values. It provides high-quality care, encouraging appropriate academic and character development for children aged 6 weeks old through pre-kindergarten. Holy Family Early Learning Center also provides after-school care for elementary students.

University of Nebraska-Lincoln Cooperative Extension in Butler County

NUniversity of Nebraska-Lincoln Cooperative Extension in Butler County delivers research-based education and information to citizens throughout the county. These educational programs, delivered via a variety of methods, are offered through a federal, state and county partnership arrangement. Our objective is to provide programs and other educational resources locally.

Our staff of extension educator and extension specialists, technicians, and support personnel specializes is providing programs throughout the county, and together with staff from all of Nebraska’s 93 counties, we contribute to more than 1.5 million educational contacts each year with Nebraska citizens. Our 4-H Youth Development Program, for example, reaches more than 650 youth in Butler County alone. Statewide, 4-H touches the lives of more than 90,000 youth each year.

University of Nebraska–Lincoln Extension is built to provide practical education that focuses on issues which influence daily life that helps to keep Nebraska competitive in a global society. Extension Specialists and Extension Educators are committed to a theme of excellence with educational programs customized.
